SWAP is the Service Water Assistance Group. Nuclear plant service water systems are complex systems that can present engineers with day-to-day challenges. Service water system performance can be improved by providing engineers with access to a collaborative environment where thoughts, ideas, and solutions can be readily available and shared.
Each year the Service Water Assistance Program (SWAP) participants help identify research needs. The program then sponsors and manages the R&D efforts required to address the needs.
BPIG is the Buried Pipe Integrity Group and it was formed in 2008. Members included are all US Nuclear utilities as well as members from Canada, France, U.K, Brazil and Korea. BPIG provides forums for program owners to discuss buried pipe issues and exchange experiences. Companies also obtain a consensus on industry issues and program practices. BPIG members receive technical support, related training, sponsored related research and development, and interface with vendor support.
